Activists face surveillance, persecution, and imprisonment. A dead man's switch serves as deterrence, insurance, and continuity. The knowledge that silencing an activist will trigger automatic disclosure creates a disincentive for suppression.

Operational Security

Use authenticated account registration. Access through Tor. Create separate vaults for different information types with different recipients (human rights organizations, journalists, international allies). Develop a consistent, untraceable check-in routine.

Combine with support from: Committee to Protect Journalists, Electronic Frontier Foundation, Tor Project, Front Line Defenders, Reporters Without Borders. These organizations can serve as vault recipients.
