Choose your person

Who would need this information? Check that their email address is current and that they understand the responsibility.

Write the first three steps

For example: call your adviser, find the document folder, and contact a family member. Keep instructions short and ordered.

List where things are kept

Original legal documents, insurance records, account inventories and backups. Keep the originals and a separate backup.

Separate instructions from secrets

Explain the authorised recovery process. Keep wallet seeds and master passwords in an appropriate separate custody arrangement.

Rehearse and review

Try the recipient flow with a harmless sample file. Revisit the plan after changes to your family, accounts or contact details.
